Iizaka Onsen Town is located in the northern part of Fukushima Prefecture. In the historic streets, there is a long-established cafe called "Cafe Hiranaga" that is known only to those in the know. Its authentic coffee and sizzling food menu are its attractions. It's the perfect combination. This cafe also uses oh goblet mugs. As a coffee lover, I have been doing business with them for a long time.
In March 2024, the second store, "HIRANAGA COFFEE" opened. We were consulted about tableware and delivered a set. This bistro plate is actually one of the items.
The owner's requirements were "American diner, breakfast, white space, mortar-like tables, thick and sturdy, cute." It's like a challenging puzzle. When I heard "American diner," I imagined a worldview like Back to the Future, but the owner, who has been to America many times in recent years, had an image of a more modern space. When I think of Japan, I think of ninjas. lol

Beautiful and easy to use, everyone's friend

The tools used in shops are often called professional-grade, and are characterized by being dishwasher safe, having the same appearance, and being relatively affordable. This is something that is appreciated not only by shops, but also by households. There are a huge number of professional tools, but only a very small number are commercially available. They are often sold to stores by trading companies, so you don't get to see them very often.
However, our specialty is finding tableware that matches your needs if you give us a few keywords. That's why we selected this bistro plate from the professional range.
When I delivered them to Hiranaga Coffee and stacked them, I was strangely drawn to their presence. And when I ordered a breakfast menu and actually used them, I thought they were insanely cute.
When I posted this on Instagram, I got a lot of requests in the comments and DMs to sell it. It's very easy to use as a one-plate breakfast, and it's sturdy enough that you can use it without any worries!

The balance between dress and casual is French vintage style.

Western Mix

If you think it's more French than American, you may have always loved interior design. It certainly has a French feel to it. The blue lines on the white background are reminiscent of St. James Wesson.
However, it is becoming more difficult to categorize interior design in terms of country these days. Many interiors are a mix of different tastes, so it is quite a challenge to identify the country from a photo of the interior space alone. Especially in cafes.
Apart from the robust image of commercial use, this plate has a very elegant design. It looks great with authentic French and Italian cuisine, and steaks are also great. It also goes really well with toast and fried eggs. Even omelet rice is welcome. The blue is not too casual, the thickness is just right, the white is not too white, the thickness is just right for a sense of security, and the rim is just the right width.


The combination of these details creates a cute and easy-to-use design. It has an excellent balance between dressy and casual. It's something that seems to be everywhere, but nowhere else. As you use it, it may get scratched or stained, but that's just a part of changing, like a French antique.

At oh, " that oval plate " is very popular. Oval plates are also easy to use, but you may not see many oval plates on the dining table. It is convenient to have round plates as well. However, it is not recommended to have plates for toast, pasta, meat, etc. Storage space will soon become limited. We recommend a design that can be used for anything.


The Bistro Plate is about the same thickness as the Oval Plate. The rim is not very raised, and is almost flat. When compared side by side, the white is slightly grayer than the Oval Plate, but when viewed alone, the blue line emphasizes the whiteness.

This appearance gives you peace of mind knowing it is made in Japan

The bistro plates are made in Japan (Mino ware). They are made by a long-established manufacturer with 100 years of history. The difference with foreign-made plates is that they are lighter even though they look similar. They also have less individual differences such as distortion.
However, these are not works of art but tools for daily life. At oh, we inspect each piece and carefully select and pack those in the best possible condition. We consider slight unevenness in the thickness of the glaze and pinholes (small holes in the glaze surface) to be good products.
